Search and Recovery

Dive Works search and recovery operations start with a survey to locate the target(s).  Dive Works then create a plan for the recovery.

The search is performed with our ROV using GPS tracking technology and video recording.  Smaller objects can generally be recovered immediately using hand equipment and the ROV is equipped with a grabber arm to assist the process.  In the case of larger objects Dive Works will work together with external parties to ensure its safe recovery.

Using the Seaeye Falcon instead of divers or to accompany divers, can significantly reduce the risk in search and recovery operations.  Sonar on the ROV can be used to locate targets up to 200 metres in distance.  The ROV can then be sent to inspect the target(s) and send images to the crew on land or boat.

Furthermore, the entire search is recorded to help investigators.  The main benefit of the ROV is that it can sustain cold waters for a long period of time and operates in any visibility, 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
